A series representation for the generalized inverse of a closed linear operator

Lawrence J. Lardy — 1975

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

Two-Layer Flow with One Viscous Layer in Inclined Channels

O. K. MatarG. M. SisoevC. J. Lawrence — 2008

Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena

We study pressure-driven, two-layer flow in inclined channels with high density and viscosity contrasts. We use a combination of asymptotic reduction, boundary-layer theory and the Karman-Polhausen approximation to derive evolution equations that describe the interfacial dynamics. Two distinguished limits are considered: where the viscosity ratio is small with density ratios of order unity, and where both density and viscosity ratios are small. The evolution equations account for the presence of...

Fattori influenzanti la reattività dei sulfidrili beta-93 dell'emoglobina umana

Giuseppe GeraciLawrence J. Parkhurst — 1971

Atti della Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei. Classe di Scienze Fisiche, Matematiche e Naturali. Rendiconti

The reactivity of the sulfhydril group beta-93 has been used as a probe of the conformation of beta chains in native human hemoglobin, globin and intermediate compound II, which consists of a hemoglobin with heme on alpha chains only. The study has been extended to the reactivity of the SH groups of isolated beta chains. Stopped-Flow analysis of the reaction of the SH groups of the individual molecules with parahydroxymer-curibenzoate has been performed and the values of the second order rate constants,...
