Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena

We study discrete spectrum in spectral gaps of an elliptic periodic second order differential operator in (ℝ) perturbed by a decaying potential. It is assumed that a perturbation is nonnegative and has a power-like behavior at infinity.
