Existence results for ϕ-Laplacian Dirichlet BVP of differential inclusions with application to control theory

Smaïl DjebaliAbdelghani Ouahab — 2010

Discussiones Mathematicae, Differential Inclusions, Control and Optimization

In this paper, we study ϕ-Laplacian problems for differential inclusions with Dirichlet boundary conditions. We prove the existence of solutions under both convexity and nonconvexity conditions on the multi-valued right-hand side. The nonlinearity satisfies either a Nagumo-type growth condition or an integrably boundedness one. The proofs rely on the Bonhnenblust-Karlin fixed point theorem and the Bressan-Colombo selection theorem respectively. Two applications to a problem from control theory are...

Furi–Pera fixed point theorems in Banach algebras with applications

Smaïl DjebaliKarima Hammache — 2008

Acta Universitatis Palackianae Olomucensis. Facultas Rerum Naturalium. Mathematica

In this work, we establish new Furi–Pera type fixed point theorems for the sum and the product of abstract nonlinear operators in Banach algebras; one of the operators is completely continuous and the other one is 𝒟 -Lipchitzian. The Kuratowski measure of noncompactness is used together with recent fixed point principles. Applications to solving nonlinear functional integral equations are given. Our results complement and improve recent ones in [10], [11], [17].

Singular φ -Laplacian third-order BVPs with derivative dependance

Smaïl DjebaliOuiza Saifi — 2016

Archivum Mathematicum

This work is devoted to the existence of solutions for a class of singular third-order boundary value problem associated with a φ -Laplacian operator and posed on the positive half-line; the nonlinearity also depends on the first derivative. The upper and lower solution method combined with the fixed point theory guarantee the existence of positive solutions when the nonlinearity is monotonic with respect to its arguments and may have a space singularity; however no Nagumo type condition is assumed....

On a singular multi-point third-order boundary value problem on the half-line

Zakia BenbazizSmail Djebali — 2020

Mathematica Bohemica

We establish not only sufficient but also necessary conditions for existence of solutions to a singular multi-point third-order boundary value problem posed on the half-line. Our existence results are based on the Krasnosel’skii fixed point theorem on cone compression and expansion. Nonexistence results are proved under suitable a priori estimates. The nonlinearity f = f ( t , x , y ) which satisfies upper and lower-homogeneity conditions in the space variables x , y may be also singular at time t = 0 . Two examples of applications...
