The Dynamics of an Interactional Model of Rabies Transmitted between Human and Dogs

Wei YangJie Lou — 2009

Bollettino dell'Unione Matematica Italiana

Assuming that the population of dogs is constant and the population of human satisfies the Logistical model, an interactional model of rabies transmitted between human and dogs is formulated. Two thresholds R 0 and R 1 which determine the outcome of the disease are identified. Utilizing the method of Lyapunov function and the property of the cooperative systems, we get the global asymptotic stability for both the disease-free equilibrium and the endemic equilibrium. A critical vaccination rate is obtained,...

Nonmetrizable topological dynamical characterization of central sets

Hong-Ting ShiHong-Wei Yang — 1996

Fundamenta Mathematicae

Without the restriction of metrizability, topological dynamical systems ( X , T s s G ) are defined and uniform recurrence and proximality are studied. Some well known results are generalized and some new results are obtained. In particular, a topological dynamical characterization of central sets in an arbitrary semigroup (G,+) is given and shown to be equivalent to the usual algebraic characterization.

On totally umbilical submanifolds of Finsler spaces

Qun HeWei YangWei Zhao — 2011

Annales Polonici Mathematici

The notion of a totally umbilical submanifold of a Finsler manifold is introduced. Some Gauss equations are given and some results on totally umbilical submanifolds of Riemannian manifolds are generalized. Totally umbilical submanifolds of Randers spaces are studied; a rigidity theorem and an example are given.
