2 -modular lattices from ternary codes

Robin Chapman, Steven T. Dougherty, Philippe Gaborit, Patrick Solé (2002)

Journal de théorie des nombres de Bordeaux

The alphabet 𝐅 3 + v 𝐅 3 where v 2 = 1 is viewed here as a quotient of the ring of integers of 𝐐 ( - 2 ) by the ideal (3). Self-dual 𝐅 3 + v 𝐅 3 codes for the hermitian scalar product give 2 -modular lattices by construction A K . There is a Gray map which maps self-dual codes for the Euclidean scalar product into Type III codes with a fixed point free involution in their automorphism group. Gleason type theorems for the symmetrized weight enumerators of Euclidean self-dual codes and the length weight enumerator of hermitian self-dual...

A generalization of Voronoï’s Theorem to algebraic lattices

Kenji Okuda, Syouji Yano (2010)

Journal de Théorie des Nombres de Bordeaux

Let K be an algebraic number field and 𝒪 K the ring of integers of K . In this paper, we prove an analogue of Voronoï’s theorem for 𝒪 K -lattices and the finiteness of the number of similar isometry classes of perfect 𝒪 K -lattices.

A note on the Hermite–Rankin constant

Kazuomi Sawatani, Takao Watanabe, Kenji Okuda (2010)

Journal de Théorie des Nombres de Bordeaux

We generalize Poor and Yuen’s inequality to the Hermite–Rankin constant γ n , k and the Bergé–Martinet constant γ n , k . Moreover, we determine explicit values of some low- dimensional Hermite–Rankin and Bergé–Martinet constants by applying Rankin’s inequality and some inequalities proven by Bergé and Martinet to explicit values of γ 5 , γ 7 , γ 4 , 2 and γ n ( n 8 ).

A two-dimensional continued fraction algorithm with Lagrange and Dirichlet properties

Christian Drouin (2014)

Journal de Théorie des Nombres de Bordeaux

A Lagrange Theorem in dimension 2 is proved in this paper, for a particular two dimensional continued fraction algorithm, with a very natural geometrical definition. Dirichlet type properties for the convergence of this algorithm are also proved. These properties proceed from a geometrical quality of the algorithm. The links between all these properties are studied. In relation with this algorithm, some references are given to the works of various authors, in the domain of multidimensional continued...
