Geometric structures on the complement of a projective arrangement

Wim Couwenberg, Gert Heckman, Eduard Looijenga (2005)

Publications Mathématiques de l'IHÉS

Consider a complex projective space with its Fubini-Study metric. We study certain one parameter deformations of this metric on the complement of an arrangement (= finite union of hyperplanes) whose Levi-Civita connection is of Dunkl type. Interesting examples are obtained from the arrangements defined by finite complex reflection groups. We determine a parameter interval for which the metric is locally of Fubini-Study type, flat, or complex-hyperbolic. We find a finite subset of this interval for...

Good moduli spaces for Artin stacks

Jarod Alper (2013)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

We develop the theory of associating moduli spaces with nice geometric properties to arbitrary Artin stacks generalizing Mumford’s geometric invariant theory and tame stacks.

Hyperbolic geometry and moduli of real cubic surfaces

Daniel Allcock, James A. Carlson, Domingo Toledo (2010)

Annales scientifiques de l'École Normale Supérieure

Let 0 be the moduli space of smooth real cubic surfaces. We show that each of its components admits a real hyperbolic structure. More precisely, one can remove some lower-dimensional geodesic subspaces from a real hyperbolic space H 4 and form the quotient by an arithmetic group to obtain an orbifold isomorphic to a component of the moduli space. There are five components. For each we describe the corresponding lattices in PO ( 4 , 1 ) . We also derive several new and several old results on the topology of 0 ....

Integral models for moduli spaces of G -torsors

Martin Olsson (2012)

Annales de l’institut Fourier

Given a finite tame group scheme G , we construct compactifications of moduli spaces of G -torsors on algebraic varieties, based on a higher-dimensional version of the theory of twisted stable maps to classifying stacks.
