Hom-Akivis algebras

A. Nourou Issa (2011)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

Hom-Akivis algebras are introduced. The commutator-Hom-associator algebra of a non-Hom-associative algebra (i.e. a Hom-nonassociative algebra) is a Hom-Akivis algebra. It is shown that Hom-Akivis algebras can be obtained from Akivis algebras by twisting along algebra endomorphisms and that the class of Hom-Akivis algebras is closed under self-morphisms. It is pointed out that a Hom-Akivis algebra associated to a Hom-alternative algebra is a Hom-Malcev algebra.

Homogeneous Einstein manifolds based on symplectic triple systems

Cristina Draper Fontanals (2020)

Communications in Mathematics

For each simple symplectic triple system over the real numbers, the standard enveloping Lie algebra and the algebra of inner derivations of the triple provide a reductive pair related to a semi-Riemannian homogeneous manifold. It is proved that this is an Einstein manifold.

Nilpotent elements and solvable actions.

Mihai Sabac (1996)

Collectanea Mathematica

In what follows we shall describe, in terms of some commutation properties, a method which gives nilpotent elements. Using this method we shall describe the irreducibility for Lie algebras which have Levi-Malçev decomposition property.

Nonassociative algebras: some applications.

Santos González, Consuelo Martínez (2003)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

Nonassociative algebras can be applied, either directly or using their particular methods, to many other branches of Mathematics and other Sciences. Here emphasis will be given to two concrete applications of nonassociative algebras. In the first one, an application to group theory in the line of the Restricted Burnside Problem will be considered. The second one opens a door to some applications of non-associative algebras to Error correcting Codes and Cryptography.

Nonassociativity in VOA theory and finite group theory

Jr. Griess, Robert L. (2010)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

We discuss some examples of nonassociative algebras which occur in VOA (vertex operator algebra) theory and finite group theory. Methods of VOA theory and finite group theory provide a lot of nonassociative algebras to study. Ideas from nonassociative algebra theory could be useful to group theorists and VOA theorists.

On centerless commutative automorphic loops

Gábor P. Nagy (2014)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

In this short paper, we survey the results on commutative automorphic loops and give a new construction method. Using this method, we present new classes of commutative automorphic loops of exponent 2 with trivial center.

On dimension of the Schur multiplier of nilpotent Lie algebras

Peyman Niroomand (2011)

Open Mathematics

Let L be an n-dimensional non-abelian nilpotent Lie algebra and s ( L ) = 1 2 ( n - 1 ) ( n - 2 ) + 1 - dim M ( L ) where M(L) is the Schur multiplier of L. In [Niroomand P., Russo F., A note on the Schur multiplier of a nilpotent Lie algebra, Comm. Algebra (in press)] it has been shown that s(L) ≥ 0 and the structure of all nilpotent Lie algebras has been determined when s(L) = 0. In the present paper, we will characterize all finite dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras with s(L) = 1; 2.

On the classification of 3 -dimensional F -manifold algebras

Zhiqi Chen, Jifu Li, Ming Ding (2022)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

F -manifold algebras are focused on the algebraic properties of the tangent sheaf of F -manifolds. The local classification of 3-dimensional F -manifolds has been given in A. Basalaev, C. Hertling (2021). We study the classification of 3-dimensional F -manifold algebras over the complex field .

On the definition of the dual Lie coalgebra of a Lie algebra.

Bertin Diarra (1995)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

Let L be a Lie algebra over a field K. The dual Lie coalgebra Lº of L has been defined by W. Michaelis to be the sum of all good subspaces V of the dual space L* of L: V is good if tm(V) ⊂ V ⊗ V, where m is the multiplication of L. We show that Lº = tm-1(L* ⊗ L*) as in the associative case.
