A p-adic behaviour of dynamical systems.

Stany De Smedt, Andrew Khrennikov (1999)

Revista Matemática Complutense

We study dynamical systems in the non-Archimedean number fields (i.e. fields with non-Archimedean valuation). The main results are obtained for the fields of p-adic numbers and complex p-adic numbers. Already the simplest p-adic dynamical systems have a very rich structure. There exist attractors, Siegel disks and cycles. There also appear new structures such as fuzzy cycles. A prime number p plays the role of parameter of a dynamical system. The behavior of the iterations depends on this parameter...

A relaxation result for autonomous integral functionals with discontinuous non-coercive integrand

Carlo Mariconda, Giulia Treu (2010)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

Let L : N × N be a Borelian function and consider the following problems inf F ( y ) = a b L ( y ( t ) , y ' ( t ) ) d t : y A C ( [ a , b ] , N ) , y ( a ) = A , y ( b ) = B ( P ) inf F * * ( y ) = a b L * * ( y ( t ) , y ' ( t ) ) d t : y A C ( [ a , b ] , N ) , y ( a ) = A , y ( b ) = B · ( P * * ) We give a sufficient condition, weaker then superlinearity, under which inf F = inf F * * if L is just continuous in x. We then extend a result of Cellina on the Lipschitz regularity of the minima of (P) when L is not superlinear.

A study of the dynamic of influence through differential equations∗

Emmanuel Maruani, Michel Grabisch, Agnieszka Rusinowska (2012)

RAIRO - Operations Research

The paper concerns a model of influence in which agents make their decisions on a certain issue. We assume that each agent is inclined to make a particular decision, but due to a possible influence of the others, his final decision may be different from his initial inclination. Since in reality the influence does not necessarily stop after one step, but may iterate, we present a model which allows us to study the dynamic of influence. An innovative...

A study on global stabilization of periodic orbits in discrete-time chaotic systems by using symbolic dynamics

Masayasu Suzuki, Noboru Sakamoto (2015)

Kybernetika

In this report, a control method for the stabilization of periodic orbits for a class of one- and two-dimensional discrete-time systems that are topologically conjugate to symbolic dynamical systems is proposed and applied to a population model in an ecosystem and the Smale horseshoe map. A periodic orbit is assigned as a target by giving a sequence in which symbols have periodicity. As a consequence, it is shown that any periodic orbits can be globally stabilized by using arbitrarily small control...
