A theorem on isotropic spaces

Félix Cabello Sánchez (1999)

Studia Mathematica

Let X be a normed space and G F ( X ) the group of all linear surjective isometries of X that are finite-dimensional perturbations of the identity. We prove that if G F ( X ) acts transitively on the unit sphere then X must be an inner product space.

A tutorial on conformal groups

Ian Porteous (1996)

Banach Center Publications

Our concern is with the group of conformal transformations of a finite-dimensional real quadratic space of signature (p,q), that is one that is isomorphic to p , q , the real vector space p + q , furnished with the quadratic form x ( 2 ) = x · x = - x 1 2 - x 2 2 - . . . - x p 2 + x p + 1 2 + . . . + x p + q 2 , and especially with a description of this group that involves Clifford algebras.

An iterative algorithm by viscosity approximation method for mixed equilibrium problems, variational inclusion and fixed point of an infinite family of pseudo-contractive mappings

Phayap Katchang, Poom Kumam (2011)

Banach Center Publications

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the problem of finding a common element of the set of solutions for mixed equilibrium problems, the set of solutions of the variational inclusion problems for inverse strongly monotone mappings and the set of common fixed points for an infinite family of strictly pseudo-contractive mappings in the setting of Hilbert spaces. We prove the strong convergence theorem by using the viscosity approximation method for finding the common element of the above four...
