A full characterization of multipliers for the strong ρ -integral in the euclidean space

Lee Tuo-Yeong (2004)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

We study a generalization of the classical Henstock-Kurzweil integral, known as the strong ρ -integral, introduced by Jarník and Kurzweil. Let ( 𝒮 ρ ( E ) , · ) be the space of all strongly ρ -integrable functions on a multidimensional compact interval E , equipped with the Alexiewicz norm · . We show that each element in the dual space of ( 𝒮 ρ ( E ) , · ) can be represented as a strong ρ -integral. Consequently, we prove that f g is strongly ρ -integrable on E for each strongly ρ -integrable function f if and only if g is almost everywhere...

A remark on the div-curl lemma

Pierre Gilles Lemarié-Rieusset (2012)

Studia Mathematica

We prove the div-curl lemma for a general class of function spaces, stable under the action of Calderón-Zygmund operators. The proof is based on a variant of the renormalization of the product introduced by S. Dobyinsky, and on the use of divergence-free wavelet bases.

Binomial-Poisson entropic inequalities and the M/M/∞ queue

Djalil Chafaï (2006)

ESAIM: Probability and Statistics

This article provides entropic inequalities for binomial-Poisson distributions, derived from the two point space. They appear as local inequalities of the M/M/∞ queue. They describe in particular the exponential dissipation of Φ-entropies along this process. This simple queueing process appears as a model of “constant curvature”, and plays for the simple Poisson process the role played by the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process for Brownian Motion. Some of the inequalities are recovered by semi-group ...

Bounded linear functionals on the space of Henstock-Kurzweil integrable functions

Tuo-Yeong Lee (2009)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

Applying a simple integration by parts formula for the Henstock-Kurzweil integral, we obtain a simple proof of the Riesz representation theorem for the space of Henstock-Kurzweil integrable functions. Consequently, we give sufficient conditions for the existence and equality of two iterated Henstock-Kurzweil integrals.

Characterizations of spreading models of l 1

Persephone Kiriakouli (2000)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

Rosenthal in [11] proved that if ( f k ) is a uniformly bounded sequence of real-valued functions which has no pointwise converging subsequence then ( f k ) has a subsequence which is equivalent to the unit basis of l 1 in the supremum norm. Kechris and Louveau in [6] classified the pointwise convergent sequences of continuous real-valued functions, which are defined on a compact metric space, by the aid of a countable ordinal index “ γ ”. In this paper we prove some local analogues of the above Rosenthal ’s theorem...

Convex Hull Property and Exclosure Theorems for H-Minimal Hypersurfaces in Carnot Groups

Francescopaolo Montefalcone (2016)

Analysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces

In this paper, we generalize to sub-Riemannian Carnot groups some classical results in the theory of minimal submanifolds. Our main results are for step 2 Carnot groups. In this case, we will prove the convex hull property and some “exclosure theorems” for H-minimal hypersurfaces of class C2 satisfying a Hörmander-type condition.
