A F -algebras and topology of mapping tori

Igor Nikolaev (2015)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

The paper studies applications of C * -algebras in geometric topology. Namely, a covariant functor from the category of mapping tori to a category of A F -algebras is constructed; the functor takes continuous maps between such manifolds to stable homomorphisms between the corresponding A F -algebras. We use this functor to develop an obstruction theory for the torus bundles of dimension 2 , 3 and 4 . In conclusion, we consider two numerical examples illustrating our main results.

A note on coalgebra gauge theory

Tomasz Brzeziński (1997)

Banach Center Publications

A generalisation of quantum principal bundles in which a quantum structure group is replaced by a coalgebra is proposed.

Differential geometrical relations for a class of formal series

Alexandr Baranovitch (1997)

Banach Center Publications

An extension of the category of local manifolds is considered. Instead of smooth mappings of neighbourhoods of linear spaces as morphisms we deal with formal operator power series (or formal maps). Analogues of the objects appearing on smooth manifolds and vector bundles (vector fields, sections of a bundle, exterior forms, the de Rham complex, connection, etc.) are considered in this way. All the examinations are carried out in algebraic language, for we do not care about the convergence of formal...

Equivariant Morita equivalences between Podleś spheres

Kenny De Commer (2012)

Banach Center Publications

We show that the family of Podleś spheres is complete under equivariant Morita equivalence (with respect to the action of quantum SU(2)), and determine the associated orbits. We also give explicit formulas for the actions which are equivariantly Morita equivalent with the quantum projective plane. In both cases, the computations are made by examining the localized spectral decomposition of a generalized Casimir element.

First order calculi with values in right-universal bimodules

Andrzej Borowiec, Vladislav Kharchenko, Zbigniew Oziewicz (1997)

Banach Center Publications

The purpose of this note is to show how calculi on unital associative algebra with universal right bimodule generalize previously studied constructions by Pusz and Woronowicz [1989] and by Wess and Zumino [1990] and that in this language results are in a natural context, are easier to describe and handle. As a by-product we obtain intrinsic, coordinate-free and basis-independent generalization of the first order noncommutative differential calculi with partial derivatives.

Half-liberated real spheres and their subspaces

Julien Bichon (2016)

Colloquium Mathematicae

We describe the quantum subspaces of Banica-Goswami's half-liberated real spheres, showing in particular that there is a bijection between the symmetric ones and the conjugation stable closed subspaces of the complex projective spaces.

K-theory over C*-algebras

Alexandr S. Mishchenko (2007)

Banach Center Publications

The contents of the article represents the minicourse which was delivered at the 7th conference "Geometry and Topology of Manifolds. The Mathematical Legacy of Charles Ehresmann", Będlewo (Poland), 8.05.2005 - 15.05.2005. The article includes the description of the so called Hirzebruch formula in different aspects which lead to a basic list of problems related to noncommutative geometry and topology. In conclusion, two new problems are presented: about almost flat bundles and about the Noether decomposition...

Left-covariant differential calculi on S L q ( N )

Konrad Schmüdgen, Axel Schüler (1997)

Banach Center Publications

We study N 2 - 1 dimensional left-covariant differential calculi on the quantum group S L q ( N ) . In this way we obtain four classes of differential calculi which are algebraically much simpler as the bicovariant calculi. The algebra generated by the left-invariant vector fields has only quadratic-linear relations and posesses a Poincaré-Birkhoff-Witt basis. We use the concept of universal (higher order) differential calculus associated with a given left-covariant first order differential calculus. It turns out...
