Highest Weight Modules of W1+∞, Darboux Transformations and the Bispectral Problem

Bakalov, B., Horozov, E., Yakimov, M. (1997)

Serdica Mathematical Journal

This paper is a survey of our recent results on the bispectral problem. We describe a new method for constructing bispectral algebras of any rank and illustrate the method by a series of new examples as well as by all previously known ones. Next we exhibit a close connection of the bispectral problem to the representation theory of W1+∞–algerba. This connection allows us to explain and generalise to any rank the result of Magri and Zubelli on the symmetries of the manifold of the bispectral operators...

Homotopy algebras via resolutions of operads

Markl, Martin (2000)

Proceedings of the 19th Winter School "Geometry and Physics"

Summary: All algebraic objects in this note will be considered over a fixed field k of characteristic zero. If not stated otherwise, all operads live in the category of differential graded vector spaces over k . For standard terminology concerning operads, algebras over operads, etc., see either the original paper by J. P. May [“The geometry of iterated loop spaces”, Lect. Notes Math. 271 (1972; Zbl 0244.55009)], or an overview [J.-L. Loday, “La renaissance des opérads”, Sémin. Bourbaki 1994/95,...

Homotopy theory of Hopf Galois extensions

Christian Kassel, Hans-Jürgen Schneider (2005)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

We introduce the concept of homotopy equivalence for Hopf Galois extensions and make a systematic study of it. As an application we determine all H -Galois extensions up to homotopy equivalence in the case when H is a Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group.

Homotopy type of Euclidean configuration spaces

Salvatore, Paolo (2001)

Proceedings of the 20th Winter School "Geometry and Physics"

Let F ( n , k ) denote the configuration space of pairwise-disjoint k -tuples of points in n . In this short note the author describes a cellular structure for F ( n , k ) when n 3 . From results in [F. R. Cohen, T. J. Lada and J. P. May, The homology of iterated loop spaces, Lect. Notes Math. 533 (1976; Zbl 0334.55009)], the integral (co)homology of F ( n , k ) is well-understood. This allows an identification of the location of the cells of F ( n , k ) in a minimal cell decomposition. Somewhat more detail is provided by the main result here,...

How the μ-deformed Segal-Bargmann space gets two measures

Stephen Bruce Sontz (2010)

Banach Center Publications

This note explains how the two measures used to define the μ-deformed Segal-Bargmann space are natural and essentially unique structures. As is well known, the density with respect to Lebesgue measure of each of these measures involves a Macdonald function. Our primary result is that these densities are the solution of a system of ordinary differential equations which is naturally associated with this theory. We then solve this system and find the known densities as well as a "spurious" solution...

How to categorify one-half of quantum 𝔤𝔩(1|2)

Mikhail Khovanov (2014)

Banach Center Publications

We describe a collection of differential graded rings that categorify weight spaces of the positive half of the quantized universal enveloping algebra of the Lie superalgebra 𝔤𝔩(1|2).

Hyperbolic wavelet discretization of the two-electron Schrödinger equation in an explicitly correlated formulation

Markus Bachmayr (2012)

ESAIM: Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis

In the framework of an explicitly correlated formulation of the electronic Schrödinger equation known as the transcorrelated method, this work addresses some fundamental issues concerning the feasibility of eigenfunction approximation by hyperbolic wavelet bases. Focusing on the two-electron case, the integrability of mixed weak derivatives of eigenfunctions of the modified problem and the improvement compared to the standard formulation are discussed....
