Neural network-based NARX models in non-linear adaptive control

Andrzej Dzieliński (2002)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

The applicability of approximate NARX models of non-linear dynamic systems is discussed. The models are obtained by a new version of Fourier analysis-based neural network also described in the paper. This constitutes a reformulation of a known method in a recursive manner, i.e. adapted to account for incoming data on-line. The method allows us to obtain an approximate model of the non-linear system. The estimation of the influence of the modelling error on the discrepancy between the model and real...

Neuro-rough-fuzzy approach for regression modelling from missing data

Krzysztof Simiński (2012)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Real life data sets often suffer from missing data. The neuro-rough-fuzzy systems proposed hitherto often cannot handle such situations. The paper presents a neuro-fuzzy system for data sets with missing values. The proposed solution is a complete neuro-fuzzy system. The system creates a rough fuzzy model from presented data (both full and with missing values) and is able to elaborate the answer for full and missing data examples. The paper also describes the dedicated clustering algorithm. The...

Neutral functional integrodifferential control systems in Banach spaces

Krishnan Balachandran, E. Radhakrishnan Anandhi (2003)

Kybernetika

Sufficient conditions for controllability of neutral functional integrodifferential systems in Banach spaces with initial condition in the phase space are established. The results are obtained by using the Schauder fixed point theorem. An example is provided to illustrate the theory.

New challenges in dynamical systems: The networked case

Peter H. Bauer (2008)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

This paper describes new technical challenges that arise from networking dynamical systems. In particular, the paper takes a look at the underlying phenomena and the resulting modeling problems that arise in such systems. Special emphasis is placed on the problem of synchronization, since this problem has not received as much attention in the literature as the phenomena of packet drop, delays, etc. The paper then discusses challenges arising in prominent areas such as congestion control, sensor...

New coprime polynomial fraction representation of transfer function matrix

Yelena M. Smagina (2001)

Kybernetika

A new form of the coprime polynomial fraction C ( s ) F ( s ) - 1 of a transfer function matrix G ( s ) is presented where the polynomial matrices C ( s ) and F ( s ) have the form of a matrix (or generalized matrix) polynomials with the structure defined directly by the controllability characteristics of a state- space model and Markov matrices H B , H A B , ...

New criterion for asymptotic stability of time-varying dynamical systems

Taoufik Ghrissi, Mohamed Ali Hammami, Mekki Hammi, Mohamed Mabrouk (2017)

Kybernetika

In this paper, we establish some new sufficient conditions for uniform global asymptotic stability for certain classes of nonlinear systems. Lyapunov approach is applied to study exponential stability and stabilization of time-varying systems. Sufficient conditions are obtained based on new nonlinear differential inequalities. Moreover, some examples are treated and an application to control systems is given.

New fault tolerant control strategies for nonlinear Takagi-Sugeno systems

Dalil Ichalal, Benoît Marx, José Ragot, Didier Maquin (2012)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

New methodologies for Fault Tolerant Control (FTC) are proposed in order to compensate actuator faults in nonlinear systems. These approaches are based on the representation of the nonlinear system by a Takagi-Sugeno model. Two control laws are proposed requiring simultaneous estimation of the system states and of the occurring actuator faults. The first approach concerns the stabilization problem in the presence of actuator faults. In the second, the system state is forced to track a reference...

New qualitative methods for stability of delay systems

Erik I. Verriest (2001)

Kybernetika

A qualitative method is explored for analyzing the stability of systems. The approach is a generalization of the celebrated Lyapunov method. Whereas classically, the Lyapunov method is based on the simple comparison theorem, deriving suitable candidate Lyapunov functions remains mostly an art. As a result, in the realm of delay equations, such Lyapunov methods can be quite conservative. The generalization is here in using the comparison theorem directly with a different scalar equation with known...
