Abstract

top
After the identification of the first pheromones molecules by the German and French chemists, in the late fifties we attends a sudden flowering of works about chemical animal communication. The progress of the analytical chemistry, the prospects of practical applications, the new theoretical prospects in ethology, as well as the prospects of meeting with other biologic disciplines (ecology, physiology) played a role of catalysts. These developments posed the problem of the definition of the animal communication, especially in the theory of information and the sciences of language point of view.
