In dem vorliegenden Artikel erfolgt die Lösung eines quadratischen Gleichungssystems F ( x , y ) = 0 und G ( x , y ) = 0 mit Hilfe der Methode, welche die von diesen Funktionen gebildeten Flächen im Gebiet des gesuchten Wurzelpaares durch Ebenen ersetzt, welche die Flächen im Sinne der Methode der kleinsten Quadrate am genauesten wiedergeben. Es wird auch die geometrische Begründung dieser Methode gezeigt und der Zusammenhang mit der Newtonschen Methode behandelt. Einige numerische Beispiele ermöglichen den Vergleich beider Methoden.
