In der Arbeit wird vom Verfasser die Methode der konformen Abbildung zur Lösung der ebenen Potentialströmung einer inkompressiblen Flüssigkeit im Spiralgehäuse der rotierenden Strömungsmaschinen verwendet. Mit der erwähnten Methode wird die Aufgabe gelöst, die Form des Gehäuses zu bestimmen, wenn der Geschwindigkeitsverlauf an den Wänden vorgeschrieben ist. Als eine Geschwindigkeitsverteilung wird eine modifizierte "Treppenfunktion mit zwei Sprüngen" gewählt; diese Wahl ermöglicht, die Form des Spiralgehäuses mit Hilfe der hypergeometrischen Funktion auszudrücken.
