Abstract

A general model for the analysis of a class of structural problems with unilateral constitutive relations is formulated and its consistency is proved. Two iterative methods for the numerical solution of this class of problems are considered and their convergence properties are analyzed. Applications to problems of relevant interest in structural engineering are briefly discussed.
