abstract = {The present article is based on the talk given by the author at the Conference in History of Mathematics in the year 2013 in Będlewo. The motivation for the creation of this article was the appearance in recent years of works dedicated to textbooks and collections of problems issued in the First Republic and in the period of partitions. The problems occurring in these textbooks concern, as they anyway do nowadays, various financial calculations The knowledge of monetary systems certainly can help one to understand these problems. To start with, I would like to justify why I chose this period. Simply put, with the coronation of King Stanislaus Augustus in the year 1763 the parliament passed a monetary system that survived the partitions, although ina slightly modified form. It was associated with the resurrection of activity of the mint in Poland in 1765, which was stipulated by "Pacta conventa" passed by the Convocation Diet and to which the parliament obligated Stanislaw August.},
