Abstract

top
This is a survey paper, starting from elementary facts on discrimination (possibly with a deferred decision). Further, four different orderings of discriminant rules are considered, and admissible rules (with respect to these orderings) are characterized by theorems and formulas. Finally, the decision regions of Bayes rules are described geometrically by regions in simplexes.
