Embryos of Xenopus laevis were treated in the first development stages with foul water holding salts of heavy metals (Zn, Cd) and with sodium alkylbenzensulphonate (LAS) at concentrations 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 mg/l. The treatement lasted at most for six days and the surviving embryos were subjected to histological observation. With both treatements in several embryo's organs appear considerable malformations, these are: neural tube occlusion, pronephric tubule dilatation, somite increase and epidermis proliferations.
