Anodic and cathodic overvoltages have been measured on Aluminium electrodes, both solid and liquid, in chloride melts by the method of galvanostatic pulse. The contribution of concentration polarization to apparent overvoltages has been stressed, while "true" reaction electrode overvoltages appeared to be negligible.
