Abstract

The eigenvalue problem (1) is considered and for any eigenvalue λ k an increasing sequence λ h ( n ) converging to λ k is constructed. The approximation error λ h - λ h ( n ) is estimated. The λ h ( n ) are obtained as eigenvalues of a differential equation with piecewise constant coefficients.
