Abstract

top
Using IT technology in teaching has a lot of advantages but also comes with restricting and risky elements. This is the topic of the qualitative research study aimed at the effects of using technology in the fourth grade at a primary school. We used an application based on the conceptual model “Exhibition Room” from mathematical textbooks by M. Hejný. The model connects number sequences with geometric representations, develops combinatorial thinking and the ability to find partial strategies. The aim of the experiment was to identify the phenomena prevalent in teaching with technology support and without it, i.e., using traditional methods. The article describes the positives and the negatives of both teaching strategies.
