The diploid chromosome number 2 n = 16 has been established in both sexes of the harpacticoid copepod Tisbe biminiensis. The chromosomes are metacentric or sub-metacentric, and differentiated sex chromosomes are not present. Chiasmatic metaphase bivalents occur in the male. In the female, after the diffuse stage the homologues separate but remain juxtaposed to each other till metaphase I.
