K-rich Chabazite has been found in a volcanite of M. Vesuvius near Herculaneum (Naples). Chemical, X-Ray, DTA and DTG data are reported.
Primo rinvenimento in natura di tetrakalsilite
The first natural tetrakalsilite has been discovered in some ejected blocks of Somma-Vesuvius volcano, characterized by pyroxene-nepheline-melilite mineralogical association. This mineral was until now known as synthetic phase only in the nepheline-kalsilite system. Lattice parameters, density and chemical composition are reported.
