Following Banakh and Gabriyelyan (2016) we say that a Tychonoff space X is an Ascoli space if every compact subset of is evenly continuous; this notion is closely related to the classical Ascoli theorem. Every -space, hence any k-space, is Ascoli. Let X be a metrizable space. We prove that the space is Ascoli iff is a -space iff X is locally compact. Moreover, endowed with the weak topology is Ascoli iff X is countable and discrete. Using some basic concepts from probability theory and...
Proporcionamos una demostración muy corta de un teorema de Cascales-Orihuela que establece que todo conjunto precompacto de un espacio localmente convexo de la clase G (en el sentido de Cascales-Orihuela) es metrizable.
Some results about the continuity of special linear maps between -spaces recently obtained by Drewnowski have motivated us to revise a closed graph theorem for quasi-Suslin spaces due to Valdivia. We extend Valdivia’s theorem by showing that a linear map with closed graph from a Baire tvs into a tvs admitting a relatively countably compact resolution is continuous. This also applies to extend a result of De Wilde and Sunyach. A topological space is said to have a (relatively countably) compact...
We study polar locally convex spaces over a non-archimedean non-trivially valued complete field with a weak topological basis. We prove two completeness theorems and a Hahn-Banach type theorem for locally convex spaces with a weak Schauder basis.
