By using the theory of strongly continuous cosine families of linear operators in Banach space the existence of solutions of a semilinear second order differential initial value problem (1) as well as the existence of solutions of the linear inhomogeneous problem corresponding to (1) are proved. The main result of the paper is contained in Theorem 5.

The aim of this paper is to give an existence theorem for a semilinear equation of evolution in the case when the generator of semigroup of operators depends on time parameter. The paper is a generalization of [2]. Basing on the notion of a measure of noncompactness in Banach space, we prove the existence of mild solutions of the equation considered. Additionally, the applicability of the results obtained to control theory is also shown. The main theorem of the paper allows to characterize...

We give some theorems on continuity and differentiability with respect to (h,t) of the solution of a second order evolution problem with parameter . Our main tool is the theory of strongly continuous cosine families of linear operators in Banach spaces.
