Bistable traveling waves for monotone semiflows with applications

Jian Fang, Xiao-Qiang Zhao (2015)

Journal of the European Mathematical Society

Similarity:

This paper is devoted to the study of traveling waves for monotone evolution systems of bistable type. In an abstract setting, we establish the existence of traveling waves for discrete and continuous-time monotone semiflows in homogeneous and periodic habitats. The results are then extended to monotone semiflows with weak compactness. We also apply the theory to four classes of evolution systems.

Reaction-diffusion-convection problems in unbounded cylinders.

Rozenn Texier-Picard, Vitaly A. Volpert (2003)

Revista Matemática Complutense

Similarity:

The work is devoted to reaction-diffusion-convection problems in unbounded cylinders. We study the Fredholm property and properness of the corresponding elliptic operators and define the topological degree. Together with analysis of the spectrum of the linearized operators it allows us to study bifurcations of solutions, to prove existence of convective waves, and to make some conclusions about their stability.

Monotone interval eigenproblem in max–min algebra

Martin Gavalec, Ján Plavka (2010)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

The interval eigenproblem in max-min algebra is studied. A classification of interval eigenvectors is introduced and six types of interval eigenvectors are described. Characterization of all six types is given for the case of strictly increasing eigenvectors and Hasse diagram of relations between the types is presented.
