Singular integral operators on Nakano spaces with weights having finite sets of discontinuities

Alexei Yu. Karlovich (2011)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

In 1968, Gohberg and Krupnik found a Fredholm criterion for singular integral operators of the form aP + bQ, where a,b are piecewise continuous functions and P,Q are complementary projections associated to the Cauchy singular integral operator, acting on Lebesgue spaces over Lyapunov curves. We extend this result to the case of Nakano spaces (also known as variable Lebesgue spaces) with certain weights having finite sets of discontinuities on arbitrary Carleson curves.

Strictly singular operators and the invariant subspace problem

C. Read (1999)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

Properties of strictly singular operators have recently become of topical interest because the work of Gowers and Maurey in [GM1] and [GM2] gives (among many other brilliant and surprising results, such as those in [G1] and [G2]) Banach spaces on which every continuous operator is of form λ I + S, where S is strictly singular. So if strictly singular operators had invariant subspaces, such spaces would have the property that all operators on them had invariant subspaces. However, in...

On a Question of Pełczyński about Strictly Singular Operators

Jesús M. F. Castillo, Marilda Simoes, Jesús Suárez de la Fuente (2012)

Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Mathematics

Similarity:

We exhibit new examples of weakly compact strictly singular operators with dual not strictly cosingular and characterize the weakly compact strictly singular surjections with strictly cosingular adjoint as those having strictly singular bitranspose. We then obtain new examples of super-strictly singular quotient maps and show that the strictly singular quotient maps in Kalton-Peck sequences are not super-strictly singular.

On multilinear singular integrals of Calderón-Zygmund type.

Loukas Grafakos, Rodolfo H. Torres (2002)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

Similarity:

A variety of results regarding multilinear singular Calderón-Zygmund integral operators is systematically presented. Several tools and techniques for the study of such operators are discussed. These include new multilinear endpoint weak type estimates, multilinear interpolation, appropriate discrete decompositions, a multilinear version of Schur's test, and a multilinear version of the T1 Theorem suitable for the study of multilinear pseudodifferential and translation invariant operators....

Boundedness of commutators of singular and potential operators in generalized grand Morrey spaces and some applications

Vakhtang Kokilashvili, Alexander Meskhi, Humberto Rafeiro (2013)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

In the setting of spaces of homogeneous type, it is shown that the commutator of Calderón-Zygmund type operators as well as the commutator of a potential operator with a BMO function are bounded in a generalized grand Morrey space. Interior estimates for solutions of elliptic equations are also given in the framework of generalized grand Morrey spaces.

Multilinear almost diagonal estimates and applications

Árpád Bényi, Nikolaos Tzirakis (2004)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

We prove that an almost diagonal condition on the (m + 1)-linear tensor associated to an m-linear operator implies boundedness of the operator on products of classical function spaces. We then provide applications to the study of certain singular integral operators.
