Closed-form expressions for the approximation of arclength parameterization for Bézier curves

Mohsen Madi (2004)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

In applications such as CNC machining, highway and railway design, manufacturing industry and animation, there is a need to systematically generate sets of reference points with prescribed arclengths along parametric curves, with sufficient accuracy and real-time performance. Thus, mechanisms to produce a parameter set that yields the coordinates of the reference points along the curve Q(t) = {x(t), y(t)} are sought. Arclength parameterizable expressions usually yield a parameter set...

Practical Data Mining in a large utility company.

Georges Hébrail (2001)

Qüestiió

Similarity:

We present in this paper the main applications of data mining techniques at Electricité de France, the French national electric power company. This includes electric load curve analysis and prediction of customer characteristics. Closely related with data mining techniques are data warehouse management problems: we show that statistical methods can be used to help to manage data consistency and to provide accurate reports even when missing data are present.

Interactive 3D Visualization of Bézier Curves using Java Open Graphics Library (JOGL)

Vlachkova, Krassimira, Boikova, Marina (2011)

Serdica Journal of Computing

Similarity:

We present a new program tool for interactive 3D visualization of some fundamental algorithms for representation and manipulation of Bézier curves. The program tool has an option for demonstration of one of their most important applications - in graphic design for creating letters by means of cubic Bézier curves. We use Java applet and JOGL as our main visualization techniques. This choice ensures the platform independency of the created applet and contributes to the realistic 3D visualization....

Envelope construction of two-parameteric system of curves in the technological practice

Bartoň, Stanislav, Petřík, Michal

Similarity:

A two-parametric system of close planar curves is defined in the introduction of the presented article. Next a theorem stating the existence of the envelope is presented and proved. A mathematical model of the collecting mechanism of the Horal forage trailer is developed and used for practical demonstrations. The collecting mechanism is a double joint system composed of three rods. An equation describing the trajectory of a random point of the working rod is derived using Maple. The...
