Functionally Countable Spaces and Baire Functions

Choban, M. (1997)

Serdica Mathematical Journal

Similarity:

The concept of the distinguished sets is applied to the investigation of the functionally countable spaces. It is proved that every Baire function on a functionally countable space has a countable image. This is a positive answer to a question of R. Levy and W. D. Rice.

On Baireness of the Wijsman Hyperspace

László Zsilinszky (2007)

Bollettino dell'Unione Matematica Italiana

Similarity:

Baireness of the Wijsman hyperspace topology is characterized for a me- trizable base space with a countable-in-itself p-base; further a separable 1st category metric space is constructed with a Baire Wijsman hyperspace.

Space of Baire functions. I

J. E. Jayne (1974)

Annales de l'institut Fourier

Similarity:

Several equivalent conditions are given for the existence of real-valued Baire functions of all classes on a type of K -analytic spaces, called disjoint analytic spaces, and on all pseudocompact spaces. The sequential stability index for the Banach space of bounded continuous real-valued functions on these spaces is shown to be either 0 , 1 , or Ω (the first uncountable ordinal). In contrast, the space of bounded real-valued Baire functions of class 1 is shown to contain closed linear subspaces...
