Comparison of preconditioning and deflation techniques of FETI methods for problem of 2D linear elasticity

Růžička, Adam, Horák, David

Similarity:

This paper deals with the basic preconditioning and deflation variants of the FETI-1 and TFETI-1 methods, with (T)FETI-1 with deflation being called (T)FETI-2. It also presents the results of numerical experiments performed on a simple benchmark 2D problem of linear elasticity to compare the computational efficiency of FETI-1 and TFETI-1 and each variant of their preconditioning or deflation in terms of number of executed CG iterations.

Displacement and stress analysis of laminated composite plates using an eight-node quasi-conforming solid-shell element

Yu Wang, Guangyu Shi, Xiaodan Wang (2017)

Curved and Layered Structures

Similarity:

This paper presents the efficient modeling and analysis of laminated composite plates using an eightnode quasi-conforming solid-shell element, named as QCSS8. The present element QCSS8 is not only lockingfree, but highly computational efficiency as it possesses the explicit element stiffness matrix. All the six components of stresses can be evaluated directly by QCSS8 in terms of the 3-D constitutive equations and the appropriately assumed element strain field. Several typical numerical...

Dynamics of shock waves in elastic-plastic solids

N. Favrie, S. Gavrilyuk (2011)

ESAIM: Proceedings

Similarity:

The Maxwell type elastic-plastic solids are characterized by decaying the absolute values of the principal components of the deviatoric part of the stress tensor during the plastic relaxation step. We propose a mathematical formulation of such a model which is compatible with the von Mises criterion of plasticity. Numerical examples show the ability of the model to deal with complex physical phenomena.

Numerical analysis and simulations of quasistatic frictionless contact problems

José Fernández García, Weimin Han, Meir Shillor, Mircea Sofonea (2001)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

A summary of recent results concerning the modelling as well as the variational and numerical analysis of frictionless contact problems for viscoplastic materials are presented. The contact is modelled with the Signorini or normal compliance conditions. Error estimates for the fully discrete numerical scheme are described, and numerical simulations based on these schemes are reported.
