Dynamic analysis of viscous material models

Trcala, Miroslav, Němec, Ivan, Vaněčková, Adéla, Hokeš, Filip

Similarity:

The article deals with the analysis of the dynamic behavior of a~concrete structural element during fast dynamic processes. The constitutive material model must be chosen appropriately so that it takes material viscosity into account when describing the behavior of material. In this analysis, it is necessary to use fairly complex viscous material models which can affect, for example, vibration damping and the dependence of strength or even of the entire stress-strain curve on the strain...

Modelling of Dynamic Problems in Biomechanics

I. Petrov, Y. Bolotskikh, A. Vasyukov (2011)

Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena

Similarity:

This paper is devoted to solving of dynamic problems in biomechanics that require detailed study of fast processes. Numerical method of characteristics is used to model the temporal development of the processes with high accuracy.

Modeling Non-Stationary Processes of Diffusion of Solute Substances in the Near-Bottom Layer ofWater Reservoirs: Variation of the Direction of Flows and Assessment of Admissible Biogenic Load

V. V. Kozlov (2009)

Mathematical Modelling of Natural Phenomena

Similarity:

The paper is devoted to mathematical modelling and numerical computations of a nonstationary free boundary problem. The model is based on processes of molecular diffusion of some products of chemical decomposition of a solid organic substance concentrated in bottom sediments. It takes into account non-stationary multi-component and multi-stage chemical decomposition of organic substances and the processes of sorption desorption under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Such a model allows...

A Suite of Skeleton Models for the MJO with Refined Vertical Structure

Sulian Thual, Andrew J. Majda (2015)

Mathematics of Climate and Weather Forecasting

Similarity:

The Madden-Julian oscillation (MJO) is the dominant mode of variability in the tropical atmosphere on intraseasonal timescales and planetary spatial scales. The skeleton model is a minimal dynamical model that recovers robustly the most fundamental MJO features of (I) a slow eastward speed of roughly 5 ms−1, (II) a peculiar dispersion relation with dw/dk ≈ 0, and (III) a horizontal quadrupole vortex structure. This model depicts the MJO as a neutrally-stable atmosphericwave that involves...

Paper deals with hydro-thermal performance of concrete exposed to a fire. It is introduced mathematical model, numerical approach and some results provided by the model.

Tumour angiogenesis model with variable vessels' effectiveness

Jan Poleszczuk, Iwona Skrzypczak (2011)

Applicationes Mathematicae

Similarity:

We propose a model of vascular tumour growth, which generalises the well recognised model formulated by Hahnfeldt et al. in 1999. Our model is based on the same idea that the carrying capacity for any solid tumour depends on its vessel density but it also incorporates vasculature quality which may be lost during angiogenesis as recognised by Jain in 2005. In the model we assume that the loss of vessel quality affects the diffusion coefficient inside the tumour. We analyse basic mathematical...

Fragmentation-Coagulation Models of Phytoplankton

Ryszard Rudnicki, Radosław Wieczorek (2006)

Bulletin of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Mathematics

Similarity:

We present two new models of the dynamics of phytoplankton aggregates. The first one is an individual-based model. Passing to infinity with the number of individuals, we obtain an Eulerian model. This model describes the evolution of the density of the spatial-mass distribution of aggregates. We show the existence and uniqueness of solutions of the evolution equation.

The Notion of Model in Software Engineering Понятието модел в софтуерните технологии

Sredkov, Miloslav (2011)

Union of Bulgarian Mathematicians

Similarity:
