The interval eigenproblem in max-min algebra is studied. A classification of interval eigenvectors is introduced and six types of interval eigenvectors are described. Characterization of all six types is given for the case of strictly increasing eigenvectors and Hasse diagram of relations between the types is presented.

We establish that for a fairly general class of topologically transitive dynamical systems, the set of non-transitive points is very small when the rate of transitivity is very high. The notion of smallness that we consider here is that of σ-porosity, and in particular we show that the set of non-transitive points is σ-porous for any subshift that is a factor of a transitive subshift of finite type, and for the tent map of [0,1]. The result extends to some finite-to-one factor systems....

For a piecewise monotone map f on a compact interval I, we characterize the ω-limit sets that are bounded away from the post-critical points of f. If the pre-critical points of f are dense, for example when f is locally eventually onto, and Λ ⊂ I is closed, invariant and contains no post-critical point, then Λ is the ω-limit set of a point in I if and only if Λ is internally chain transitive in the sense of Hirsch, Smith and Zhao; the proof relies upon symbolic dynamics. By identifying...

We investigate the problem of when ≤λ-support iterations of < λ-complete notions of forcing preserve λ⁺. We isolate a property- properness over diamonds-that implies λ⁺ is preserved and show that this property is preserved by λ-support iterations. Our condition is a relative of that presented by Rosłanowski and Shelah in [2]; it is not clear if the two conditions are equivalent. We close with an application of our technology by presenting a consistency result on uniformizing colorings...
