On generalized topological spaces II

Artur Piękosz (2013)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

Similarity:

This is the second part of A. Piękosz [Ann. Polon. Math. 107 (2013), 217-241]. The categories GTS(M), with M a non-empty set, are shown to be topological. Several related categories are proved to be finitely complete. Locally small and nice weakly small spaces can be described using certain sublattices of power sets. Some important elements of the theory of locally definable and weakly definable spaces are reconstructed in a wide context of structures with topologies.

On local aspects of topological weak mixing in dimension one and beyond

Piotr Oprocha, Guohua Zhang (2011)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

We introduce the concept of weakly mixing sets of order n and show that, in contrast to weak mixing of maps, a weakly mixing set of order n does not have to be weakly mixing of order n + 1. Strictly speaking, we construct a minimal invertible dynamical system which contains a non-trivial weakly mixing set of order 2, whereas it does not contain any non-trivial weakly mixing set of order 3. In dimension one this difference is not that much visible, since we prove that...

A note on weakly ( μ , λ ) -closed functions

Bishwambhar Roy (2013)

Mathematica Bohemica

Similarity:

In this paper we introduce a new class of functions called weakly ( μ , λ ) -closed functions with the help of generalized topology which was introduced by Á. Császár. Several characterizations and some basic properties of such functions are obtained. The connections between these functions and some other similar types of functions are given. Finally some comparisons between different weakly closed functions are discussed. This weakly ( μ , λ ) -closed functions enable us to facilitate the formulation...

Some results and problems about weakly pseudocompact spaces

Oleg Okunev, Angel Tamariz-Mascarúa (2000)

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

Similarity:

A space X is if X is either weakly pseudocompact or Lindelöf locally compact. We prove: (1) every locally weakly pseudocompact space is truly weakly pseudocompact if it is either a generalized linearly ordered space, or a proto-metrizable zero-dimensional space with χ ( x , X ) > ω for every x X ; (2) every locally bounded space is truly weakly pseudocompact; (3) for ω < κ < α , the κ -Lindelöfication of a discrete space of cardinality α is weakly pseudocompact if κ = κ ω .

Weakly countably determined spaces of high complexity

Antonio Avilés (2008)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

We prove that there exist weakly countably determined spaces of complexity higher than coanalytic. On the other hand, we also show that coanalytic sets can be characterized by the existence of a cofinal adequate family of closed sets. Therefore the Banach spaces constructed by means of these families have at most coanalytic complexity.

On weakly bisequential spaces

Commentationes Mathematicae Universitatis Carolinae

Similarity:

Weakly bisequential spaces were introduced by A.V. Arhangel'skii [1], in this paper. We discuss the relations between weakly bisequential spaces and metric spaces, countably bisequential spaces, Fréchet-Urysohn spaces.
