On domestic algebras of semiregular type

Alicja Jaworska-Pastuszak, Andrzej Skowroński (2013)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

We describe the structure of finite-dimensional algebras of domestic representation type over an algebraically closed field whose Auslander-Reiten quiver consists of generalized standard and semiregular components. Moreover, we prove that this class of algebras contains all special biserial algebras whose Auslander-Reiten quiver consists of semiregular components.

Structure theory of homologically trivial and annihilator locally C*-algebras

Alexei Yu. Pirkovskii, Yurii V. Selivanov (2010)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

We study the structure of certain classes of homologically trivial locally C*-algebras. These include algebras with projective irreducible Hermitian A-modules, biprojective algebras, and superbiprojective algebras. We prove that, if A is a locally C*-algebra, then all irreducible Hermitian A-modules are projective if and only if A is a direct topological sum of elementary C*-algebras. This is also equivalent to A being an annihilator (dual, complemented, left quasi-complemented, or topologically...

On the problem of axiomatization of tame representation type

Stanisław Kasjan (2002)

Fundamenta Mathematicae

Similarity:

Associative algebras of fixed dimension over algebraically closed fields of fixed characteristic are considered. It is proved that the class of algebras of tame representation type is axiomatizable. Moreover, finite axiomatizability of this class is equivalent to the conjecture that the algebras of tame representation type form a Zariski-open subset in the variety of algebras.

Left sections and the left part of an artin algebra

Ibrahim Assem (2009)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

We define a notion of left section in an Auslander-Reiten component, by weakening one of the axioms for sections. We derive a generalisation of the Liu-Skowroński criterion for tilted algebras, then apply our results to describe the Auslander-Reiten components lying in the left part of an artin algebra.

On selfinjective algebras of tilted type

Andrzej Skowroński, Kunio Yamagata (2015)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

We provide a characterization of all finite-dimensional selfinjective algebras over a field K which are socle equivalent to a prominent class of selfinjective algebras of tilted type.

Selfinjective algebras of strictly canonical type

Marta Kwiecień, Andrzej Skowroński (2009)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

We develop the representation theory of selfinjective algebras of strictly canonical type and prove that their Auslander-Reiten quivers admit quasi-tubes maximally saturated by simple and projective modules.

The representation dimension of domestic weakly symmetric algebras

Rafał Bocian, Thorsten Holm, Andrzej Skowroński (2004)

Open Mathematics

Similarity:

Auslander’s representation dimension measures how far a finite dimensional algebra is away from being of finite representation type. In [1], M. Auslander proved that a finite dimensional algebra A is of finite representation type if and only if the representation dimension of A is at most 2. Recently, R. Rouquier proved that there are finite dimensional algebras of an arbitrarily large finite representation dimension. One of the exciting open problems is to show that all finite dimensional...

C*-seminorms on partial *-algebras: an overview

Camillo Trapani (2005)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

The main facts about unbounded C*-seminorms on partial *-algebras are reviewed and the link with the representation theory is discussed. In particular, starting from the more familiar case of *-algebras, we examine C*-seminorms that are defined from suitable families of positive linear or sesquilinear forms, mimicking the construction of the Gelfand seminorm for Banach *-algebras. The admissibility of these forms in terms of the (unbounded) C*-seminorms they generate is characterized. ...

Strongly simply connected coil algebras

Flávio U. Coelho, Ma. I. R. Martins, Bertha Tomé (2004)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

We study the simple connectedness and strong simple connectedness of the following classes of algebras: (tame) coil enlargements of tame concealed algebras and n-iterated coil enlargement algebras.

On minimal non-tilted algebras

Flávio U. Coelho, José A. de la Peña, Sonia Trepode (2008)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

A minimal non-tilted triangular algebra such that any proper semiconvex subcategory is tilted is called a tilt-semicritical algebra. We study the tilt-semicritical algebras which are quasitilted or one-point extensions of tilted algebras of tame hereditary type. We establish inductive procedures to decide whether or not a given strongly simply connected algebra is tilted.

Sequence spaces with exponent weights. Realizations of Colombeau type algebras

Antoine Delcroix, Maximilian F. Hasler, Stevan Pilipović, Vincent Valmorin

Similarity:

We give a description of various algebras of generalized functions based on the introduction of pseudo-ultranorms on spaces of sequences in given locally convex function algebras. We study sheaf properties of these algebras, needed for microlocal analysis, and also consider regularity theory, functoriality and different concepts of association and weak equality in a unified setting. Using this approach, we also give new results on embeddings of ultradistribution and hyperfunction spaces...

A review on δ-structurable algebras

Noriaki Kamiya, Daniel Mondoc, Susumu Okubo (2011)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

In this paper we give a review on δ-structurable algebras. A connection between Malcev algebras and a generalization of δ-structurable algebras is also given.

A classification of symmetric algebras of strictly canonical type

Marta Kwiecień, Andrzej Skowroński (2009)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

In continuation of our article in Colloq. Math. 116.1, we give a complete description of the symmetric algebras of strictly canonical type by quivers and relations, using Brauer quivers.

Representation-tame incidence algebras of finite posets

Zbigniew Leszczyński (2003)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

Continuing the paper [Le], we give criteria for the incidence algebra of an arbitrary finite partially ordered set to be of tame representation type. This completes our result in [Le], concerning completely separating incidence algebras of posets.

Extremal properties for concealed-canonical algebras

Michael Barot, Dirk Kussin, Helmut Lenzing (2013)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

Canonical algebras, introduced by C. M. Ringel in 1984, play an important role in the representation theory of finite-dimensional algebras. They also feature in many other mathematical areas like function theory, 3-manifolds, singularity theory, commutative algebra, algebraic geometry and mathematical physics. We show that canonical algebras are characterized by a number of interesting extremal properties (among concealed-canonical algebras, that is, the endomorphism rings of tilting...
