Absolutely convergent Fourier series and generalized Lipschitz classes of functions

Ferenc Móricz (2008)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

We investigate the order of magnitude of the modulus of continuity of a function f with absolutely convergent Fourier series. We give sufficient conditions in terms of the Fourier coefficients in order that f belong to one of the generalized Lipschitz classes Lip(α,L) and Lip(α,1/L), where 0 ≤ α ≤ 1 and L = L(x) is a positive, nondecreasing, slowly varying function such that L(x) → ∞ as x → ∞. For example, a 2π-periodic function f is said to belong to the class Lip(α,L) if | f ( x + h ) - f ( x ) | C h α L ( 1 / h ) for all...

Boehmians of type S and their Fourier transforms

R. Bhuvaneswari, V. Karunakaran (2010)

Annales UMCS, Mathematica

Similarity:

Function spaces of type S are introduced and investigated in the literature. They are also applied to study the Cauchy problem. In this paper we shall extend the concept of these spaces to the context of Boehmian spaces and study the Fourier transform theory on these spaces. These spaces enable us to combine the theory of Fourier transform on these function spaces as well as their dual spaces.

In this paper a very general method is given in order to reconstruct a periodic function f knowing only an approximation of its Fourier coefficients.

Bi-Lipschitz trivialization of the distance function to a stratum of a stratification

Adam Parusiński (2005)

Annales Polonici Mathematici

Similarity:

Given a Lipschitz stratification 𝒳 that additionally satisfies condition (δ) of Bekka-Trotman (for instance any Lipschitz stratification of a subanalytic set), we show that for every stratum N of 𝒳 the distance function to N is locally bi-Lipschitz trivial along N. The trivialization is obtained by integration of a Lipschitz vector field.
