Bilinear operators and limiting real methods

Fernando Cobos, Alba Segurado (2014)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

We investigate the behaviour of bilinear operators under limiting real methods. As an application, we show an interpolation formula for spaces of linear operators. Some results on norm estimates for bounded linear operators are also established.

Compact operators between K- and J-spaces

Fernando Cobos, Luz M. Fernández-Cabrera, Antón Martínez (2005)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

The paper establishes necessary and sufficient conditions for compactness of operators acting between general K-spaces, general J-spaces and operators acting from a J-space into a K-space. Applications to interpolation of compact operators are also given.

A commutator theorem with applications.

Mario Milman (1993)

Collectanea Mathematica

Similarity:

We give an extension of the commutator theorems of Jawerth, Rochberg and Weiss [9] for the real method of interpolation. The results are motivated by recent work by Iwaniek and Sbordone [6] on generalized Hodge decompositions. The main estimates of these authors are based on a commutator theorem for a specific operator acting on Lp spaces and through the use of the complex method of interpolation. In this note we give an extension of the Iwaniek-Sbordone theorem to general real interpolation...

Fréchet interpolation spaces and Grothendieck operator ideals.

Jesús M. Fernández Castillo (1991)

Collectanea Mathematica

Similarity:

Starting with a continuous injection I: X → Y between Banach spaces, we are interested in the Fréchet (non Banach) space obtained as the reduced projective limit of the real interpolation spaces. We study relationships among the pertenence of I to an operator ideal and the pertenence of the given interpolation space to the Grothendieck class generated by that ideal.

Limiting real interpolation methods for arbitrary Banach couples

Fernando Cobos, Alba Segurado (2012)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

We study limiting K- and J-methods for arbitrary Banach couples. They are related by duality and they extend the methods already known in the ordered case. We investigate the behaviour of compact operators and we also discuss the representation of the methods by means of the corresponding dual functional. Finally, some examples of limiting function spaces are given.

Absolutely (r,p,q)-summing inclusions

Carsten Michels (2007)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

As a continuation of the work of Bennett and Carl for the case q = ∞, we consider absolutely (r,p,q)-summing inclusion maps between Minkowski sequence spaces, 1 ≤ p,q ≤ 2. Using these results we deduce parts of the limit orders of the corresponding operator ideals and an inclusion theorem between the ideals of (u,s,t)-nuclear and of absolutely (r,p,q)-summing operators, which gives a new proof of a result of Carl on Schatten class operators. Furthermore, we also consider inclusions between...

Composition of (E,2)-summing operators

Andreas Defant, Mieczysław Mastyło (2003)

Studia Mathematica

Similarity:

The Banach operator ideal of (q,2)-summing operators plays a fundamental role within the theory of s-number and eigenvalue distribution of Riesz operators in Banach spaces. A key result in this context is a composition formula for such operators due to H. König, J. R. Retherford and N. Tomczak-Jaegermann. Based on abstract interpolation theory, we prove a variant of this result for (E,2)-summing operators, E a symmetric Banach sequence space.

Factoring Rosenthal operators.
