Singularities in Muckenhoupt weighted function spaces

Dorothee D. Haroske (2008)

Banach Center Publications

Similarity:

We study weighted function spaces of Lebesgue, Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin type where the weight function belongs to some Muckenhoupt p class. The singularities of functions in these spaces are characterised by means of envelope functions.

On the integral representation of superbiharmonic functions

Ali Abkar (2007)

Czechoslovak Mathematical Journal

Similarity:

We consider a nonnegative superbiharmonic function w satisfying some growth condition near the boundary of the unit disk in the complex plane. We shall find an integral representation formula for w in terms of the biharmonic Green function and a multiple of the Poisson kernel. This generalizes a Riesz-type formula already found by the author for superbihamonic functions w satisfying the condition 0 w ( z ) C ( 1 - | z | ) in the unit disk. As an application we shall see that the polynomials are dense in weighted...

Weakly precompact subsets of L₁(μ,X)

Ioana Ghenciu (2012)

Colloquium Mathematicae

Similarity:

Let (Ω,Σ,μ) be a probability space, X a Banach space, and L₁(μ,X) the Banach space of Bochner integrable functions f:Ω → X. Let W = f ∈ L₁(μ,X): for a.e. ω ∈ Ω, ||f(ω)|| ≤ 1. In this paper we characterize the weakly precompact subsets of L₁(μ,X). We prove that a bounded subset A of L₁(μ,X) is weakly precompact if and only if A is uniformly integrable and for any sequence (fₙ) in A, there exists a sequence (gₙ) with g c o f i : i n for each n such that for a.e. ω ∈ Ω, the sequence (gₙ(ω)) is weakly...

A note on weakly ( μ , λ ) -closed functions

Bishwambhar Roy (2013)

Mathematica Bohemica

Similarity:

In this paper we introduce a new class of functions called weakly ( μ , λ ) -closed functions with the help of generalized topology which was introduced by Á. Császár. Several characterizations and some basic properties of such functions are obtained. The connections between these functions and some other similar types of functions are given. Finally some comparisons between different weakly closed functions are discussed. This weakly ( μ , λ ) -closed functions enable us to facilitate the formulation...
