On a certain two-sided symmetric condition in magnetic field analysis and computations

František Melkes, Alexander Ženíšek (1997)

Applications of Mathematics

Similarity:

A special two-sided condition for the incremental magnetic reluctivity is introduced which guarantees the unique existence of both the weak and the approximate solutions of the nonlinear stationary magnetic field distributed on a region composed of different media, as well as a certain estimate of the error between the two solutions. The condition, being discussed from the physical as well as the mathematical point of view, can be easily verified and is fulfilled for various magnetic...

FEMLab software applied to Active Magnetic Bearing analysis

Adam Piłat (2004)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

This paper presents how the FEMLab package can be used to perform the magnetic field analysis in the Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB). The AMB is an integral part of the industrial rotational machine laboratory model. The electromagnetic field distribution and density analysis allow verifying the designed AMB and the influence of the shaft and coil current changes on the bearing parameters.

Calculation of the magnetic field due to a bioelectric current dipole in an ellipsoid

Andrei Irimia (2008)

Applications of Mathematics

Similarity:

The bioelectric current dipole model is important both theoretically and computationally in the study of electrical activity in the brain and stomach due to the resemblance of the shape of these two organs to an ellipsoid. To calculate the magnetic field 𝐁 due to a dipole in an ellipsoid, one must evaluate truncated series expansions involving ellipsoidal harmonics 𝔼 n m , which are products of Lamé functions. In this article, we extend a strictly analytic model (G. Dassios and F. Kariotou,...

Magnetization switching on small ferromagnetic ellipsoidal samples

François Alouges, Karine Beauchard (2008)

ESAIM: Control, Optimisation and Calculus of Variations

Similarity:

The study of small magnetic particles has become a very important topic, in particular for the development of technological devices such as those used for magnetic recording. In this field, switching the magnetization inside the magnetic sample is of particular relevance. We here investigate mathematically this problem by considering the full partial differential model of Landau-Lifschitz equations triggered by a uniform (in space) external magnetic field.
