A collector for information without probability in a fuzzy setting

Doretta Vivona, Maria Divari (2005)

Kybernetika

Similarity:

In the fuzzy setting, we define a collector of fuzzy information without probability, which allows us to consider the reliability of the observers. This problem is transformed in a system of functional equations. We give the general solution of that system for collectors which are compatible with composition law of the kind “inf”.

A Method to Construct an Extension of Fuzzy Information Granularity Based on Fuzzy Distance

Thien, Nguyen Van, Demetrovics, Janos, Thi, Vu Duc, Giang, Nguyen Long, Son, Nguyen Nhu (2016)

Serdica Journal of Computing

Similarity:

In fuzzy granular computing, a fuzzy granular structure is the collection of fuzzy information granules and fuzzy information granularity is used to measure the granulation degree of a fuzzy granular structure. In general, the fuzzy information granularity characterizes discernibility ability among fuzzy information granules in a fuzzy granular structure. In recent years, researchers have proposed some concepts of fuzzy information granularity based on partial order relations. However,...

A context-based approach to linguistic hedges

Martine De Cock, Etienne Kerre (2002)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

We present a framework of L-fuzzy modifiers for L being a complete lattice. They are used to model linguistic hedges that act on linguistic terms represented by L-fuzzy sets. In the modelling process the context is taken into account by means of L-fuzzy relations, endowing the L-fuzzy modifiers with a clear inherent semantics. To our knowledge, these L-fuzzy modifiers are the first ones proposed that are suitable to perform this representation task for a lattice L different from the...

On the notion of Fuzzy Set.

Nando Prati (1992)

Stochastica

Similarity:

Many discussions have been made on the problem of (i) What are Fuzzy Sets? since the origin of the theory. Due to the structure of Fuzzy Sets the first impression that many people have is that Fuzzy Sets are the distribution of a probability. Recent developments of many theories of uncertainty measures (belief functions, possibility and fuzzy measures, capacities) can make also think that a Fuzzy Set is the distribution of an uncertainty measure. Other problems...

On contrast intensification operators and fuzzy equality relations.

Pedro J. Burillo López, Ramón Fuentes-González, León González Sotos, Angel Marín (2000)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

The class of contrast intensification operators is formally defined and it's lattice structure studied. The effect of these operators in the referential classifications derived from special kinds of fuzzy relations is also determined. Results and examples are presented providing contrast intensification operators which keep quasi-uniformity structures generated by fuzzy relations while diminishing the fuzziness or the entropy of the relations.

Fundamentals of a mathematical theory of fuzzy sets

Jindřich Spal (1982)

Aplikace matematiky

Similarity:

Fuzzy sets establish a mapping from the interval of values of a criterial function onto a system of subsets of a basic set. In the paper, a system of definitions and theorems is introduced, which is aimed at an adequate expression of this point of view. The criterial function, with an arbitrary interval of values, serves for expressing the really existing objective property, forming the basis for defining a fuzzy set.

Mathematical aspects of the theory of measures of fuzziness.

Doretta Vivona (1996)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

After recalling the axiomatic concept of fuzziness measure, we define some fuzziness measures through Sugeno's and Choquet's integral. In particular, for the so-called homogeneous fuzziness measures we prove two representation theorems by means of the above integrals.
