An specification language for fuzzy systems.

Francisco José Moreno-Velo, Santiago Sánchez-Solano, Angel Barriga, M.ª Iluminada Baturone, Diego R. López (2001)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

This work presents the main features of XFL3, a language for fuzzy system specification, which has been defined as the common description languaje for the tools forming the Xfuzzy 3.0 development environment. Its main advantages are its capability to admit user-defined membership functions, parametric operators, and linguistic hedges. A brief summary of the tools included in Xfuzzy 3.0 and an example illustrating the use of XFL3 are also included.

Learning imprecise semantic concepts from image databases.

Daniel Sánchez, Jesús Chamorro-Martínez (2002)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

In this paper we introduce a model to represent high-level semantic concepts that can be perceived in images. The concepts are learned and represented by means of a set of association rules that relate the presence of perceptual features to the fulfillment of a concept for a set of images. Since both the set of images where a perceptual feature appears and the set of images fulfilling a given concept are fuzzy, we use in fact fuzzy association rules for the learning model. The concepts...

New aspects on extraction of fuzzy rules using neural networks.

José Manuel Benítez, Armando Blanco, Miguel Delgado, Ignacio Requena (1998)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

In previous works, we have presented two methodologies to obtain fuzzy rules in order to describe the behaviour of a system. We have used Artificial Neural Netorks (ANN) with the Backpropagation algorithm, and a set of examples of the system. In this work, some modifications which allow to improve the results, by means of an adaptation or refinement of the variable labels in each rule, or the extraction of local rules using distributed ANN, are showed. An interesting application on the...

ReSySTER: A hybrid recommender system for Scrum team roles based on fuzzy and rough sets

Ricardo Colomo-Palacios, Israel González-Carrasco, José Luis López-Cuadrado, Ángel García-Crespo (2012)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

Agile development is a crucial issue within software engineering because one of the goals of any project leader is to increase the speed and flexibility in the development of new commercial products. In this sense, project managers must find the best resource configuration for each of the work packages necessary for the management of software development processes in order to keep the team motivated and committed to the project and to improve productivity and quality. This paper presents...

An approach to fuzzy temporal reasoning in medicine.

R. Marín, S. Barro, F. Palacios, R. Ruiz, F. Martín (1994)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

In this work we propose an approach for the application of a fuzzy temporal constraint model to intelligent patient monitoring tasks. After analyzing the requirements of the domain, we describe the approach that was followed in order to represent temporal information and solve queries on temporal relations. These processes require the cooperation of a temporal specialist with the domain reasoning mechanisms. The integration solution presented here corresponds to a stage of the implementation...

Fast prototyping of computing-oriented fuzzy-logic systems.

José Ignacio Martínez-Torre, Jean-Pierre Deschamps, Milagros Fernández Centeno (1999)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

In this paper we propose to explore different dedicated hardware solutions in terms of area-speed trade-offs for computing-oriented fuzzy logic systems in the algorithmic abstraction level that fulfil the application requirements applying high level synthesis techniques. The main benefits of this proposal are the capability of selecting the best implementation for any application not being tied down to a predefined architecture, the use of the required number of hardware units and the...

Fuzzy approach for data association in image tracking.

Julio García, José Manuel Molina, Juan Alberto Besada, Javier I. Portillo (2003)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

A fuzzy system has been developed to ponder update decisions both for the trajectories and shapes estimated for targets. It is embedded in an A-SMGCS Surveillance function for airport surface, based on video data processing, in charge of the automatic detection, identification and tracking of all interesting targets (aircraft and relevant ground vehicles). The tracking system captures a sequence of images, preprocesses them to extract the moving regions (blobs), and associates the blobs...

Evolutionary algorithms and fuzzy sets for discovering temporal rules

Stephen G. Matthews, Mario A. Gongora, Adrian A. Hopgood (2013)

International Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Similarity:

A novel method is presented for mining fuzzy association rules that have a temporal pattern. Our proposed method contributes towards discovering temporal patterns that could otherwise be lost from defining the membership functions before the mining process. The novelty of this research lies in exploring the composition of fuzzy and temporal association rules, and using a multi-objective evolutionary algorithm combined with iterative rule learning to mine many rules. Temporal patterns...

Relevance and redundancy in fuzzy classification systems.

Ana Del Amo, Daniel Gómez, Javier Montero, Gregory S. Biging (2001)

Mathware and Soft Computing

Similarity:

Fuzzy classification systems is defined in this paper as an aggregative model, in such a way that Ruspini classical definition of fuzzy partition appears as a particular case. Once a basic recursive model has been accepted, we then propose to analyze relevance and redundancy in order to allow the possibility of learning from previous experiences. All these concepts are applied to a real picture, showing that our approach allows to check quality of such a classification system. ...
