Two problems on doubling measures.

Robert Kaufman, Jang-Mei Wu (1995)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

Similarity:

Doubling measures appear in relation to quasiconformal mappings of the unit disk of the complex plane onto itself. Each such map determines a homeomorphism of the unit circle on itself, and the problem arises, which mappings f can occur as boundary mappings?

Vector valued measures of bounded mean oscillation.

Oscar Blasco (1991)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

Similarity:

The duality between H1 and BMO, the space of functions of bounded mean oscillation (see [JN]), was first proved by C. Fefferman (see [F], [FS]) and then other proofs of it were obtained. In this paper we shall study such space in little more detail and we shall consider the H1-BMO duality for vector-valued functions in the more general setting of spaces of homogeneous type (see [CW]).

Local limit theorems on some non unimodular groups.

Emile Le Page, Marc Peigné (1999)

Revista Matemática Iberoamericana

Similarity:

Let Gd be the semi-direct product of R*+ and Rd, d ≥ 1 and let us consider the product group Gd,N = Gd x RN, N ≥ 1. For a large class of probability measures μ on Gd,N, one prove that there exists ρ(μ) ∈ ]0,1] such that the sequence of finite measures {(n(N+3)/2 / ρ(μ)n) μ*n...

Connectivity, homotopy degree, and other properties of α-localized wavelets on R.

Gustavo Garrigós (1999)

Publicacions Matemàtiques

Similarity:

In this paper, we study general properties of α-localized wavelets and multiresolution analyses, when 1/2 < α ≤ ∞. Related to the latter, we improve a well-known result of A. Cohen by showing that the correspondence m → φ' = Π m(2 ·), between low-pass filters in H(T) and Fourier transforms of α-localized scaling functions (in H(R)), is actually a homeomorphism of topological spaces. We also show that the space of such filters can be regarded as a connected infinite...
