The moduli space of n tropically collinear points in R.

Mike Develin (2005)

Collectanea Mathematica

Similarity:

The tropical semiring (R, min, +) has enjoyed a recent renaissance, owing to its connections to mathematical biology as well as optimization and algebraic geometry. In this paper, we investigate the space of labeled n-point configurations lying on a tropical line in d-space, which is interpretable as the space of n-species phylogenetic trees. This is equivalent to the space of n x d matrices of tropical rank two, a simplicial complex. We prove that this simplicial complex is shellable...

Five-gonal curves of genus nine.

Marc Coppens (2005)

Collectanea Mathematica

Similarity:

Let C be a smooth 5-gonal curve of genus 9. Assume all linear systems g on C are of type I (i.e. they can be counted with multiplicity 1) and let m be the numer of linear systems g on C. The only possibilities are m=1; m=2; m=3 and m=6. Each of those possibilities occur.

ACM bundles on general hypersurfaces in P of low degree.

Luca Chiantini, Carlo K. Madonna (2005)

Collectanea Mathematica

Similarity:

In this paper we show that on a general hypersurface of degree r = 3,4,5,6 in P a rank 2 vector bundle ε splits if and only if hε(n) = hε(n) = 0 for all n ∈ Z. Similar results for r = 1,2 were obtained in [15], [16] and [2].
