An existence result in shape optimization using a geometric property of the normal vector

Abstract

In this paper, we prove a new existence result for a large class of problems of optimum design. The sets we consider are subjected to a geometric constraint involving the inward normal vector. This work is motivated by the variational formulation of a free boundary problem whose solution has this geometric property.
