abstract = {The lecture notes under review concerns matters which in these kind of books are rarely discussed, such as the central role of alternative hypothesis in the problem of hypothesis testing or the issue of assessing the accuracy of point estimates using confidence interval. While one can argue about whether these issues are not discussed in other books, it certainly must agree with the author in a different matter. What distinguishes the script-reviewed many other books, is a way of presenting the main ideas of mathematical statistics. Not wanting to complicate the lecture by more complex models, author described these ideas as an example a very simple statistical model.},
