The general trend of the exothermic heat of formation of the Pt-Sn alloys has been outlined by using a “direct calorimeter”. Typical values of the Δ ⁢ H f ⁢ o ⁢ r ⁢ m 298 ∘ ⁢ K are the following: P ⁢ t 3 ⁢ S ⁢ n - 12.0 ± 0.5 , P ⁢ t ⁢ S ⁢ n - 14.0 ± 0.5 , Kcal/g.at.
