Abstract

top
The last part of series of articles aimed at the history of school leaving examinations in the former Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic; it focuses on years 1989-2012. The author summarizes legislative moves which influenced the form of examinations, the growing number of secondary grammar schools, which subjects were compulsory in the examinations and at what level, etc. He mentions the role of the Union of Czech Mathematicians and Physicists in the process of the preparation of new examinations. It is shown that even after 12 years 1989 the situation is not satisfactorily solved. The article finishes with a short survey of the situation in Bavaria (Germany) which is compared to the situation in the Czech Republic.
