Abstract

top
The paper describes the Prytz hatchet planimeter - a tool for measuring areas of irregular shape. We explain both the usage and the mathematical background of the planimeter. At the end of the paper we suggest (and test) some possibilities how to replace the planimeter by things of daily use, such as scooter.
