Charakerisierung der lokalbeschränkten Ringtopologien auf globalen Körpern.
Starting from the Rodrigues representation of polynomial solutions of the general hypergeometric-type differential equation complementary polynomials are constructed using a natural method. Among the key results is a generating function in closed form leading to short and transparent derivations of recursion relations and addition theorem. The complementary polynomials satisfy a hypergeometric-type differential equation themselves, have a three-term recursion among others and obey Rodrigues formulas....
A connection between Romanovski polynomials and those polynomials that solve the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation with the trigonometric Rosen-Morse and hyperbolic Scarf potential is established. The map is constructed by reworking the Rodrigues formula in an elementary and natural way. The generating function is summed in closed form from which recursion relations and addition theorems follow. Relations to some classical polynomials are also given.
We prove an extension theorem for modular functions on arbitrary lattices and an extension theorem for measures on orthomodular lattices. The first is used to obtain a representation of modular vector-valued functions defined on complemented lattices by measures on Boolean algebras. With the aid of this representation theorem we transfer control measure theorems, Vitali-Hahn-Saks and Nikodým theorems and the Liapunoff theorem about the range of measures to the setting of modular functions on complemented...
In this paper we carry on the investigation of partially additive states on quantum logics (see [2], [5], [7], [8], [11], [12], [15], [18], etc.). We study a variant of weak states — the states which are additive with respect to a given Boolean subalgebra. In the first result we show that there are many quantum logics which do not possess any 2-additive central states (any logic possesses an abundance of 1-additive central state — see [12]). In the second result we construct a finite 3-homogeneous...
We study the behaviour of ℵ-compactness, extent and Lindelöf number in lexicographic products of linearly ordered spaces. It is seen, in particular, that for the case that all spaces are bounded all these properties behave very well when taking lexicographic products. We also give characterizations of these notions for generalized ordered spaces.
The order topology (resp. the sequential order topology ) on a poset P is the topology that has as its closed sets those that contain the order limits of all their order convergent nets (resp. sequences). For a von Neumann algebra M we consider the following three posets: the self-adjoint part , the self-adjoint part of the unit ball , and the projection lattice P(M). We study the order topology (and the corresponding sequential variant) on these posets, compare the order topology to the other...
We deal with decomposition theorems for modular measures defined on a D-lattice with values in a Dedekind complete -group. Using the celebrated band decomposition theorem of Riesz in Dedekind complete -groups, several decomposition theorems including the Lebesgue decomposition theorem, the Hewitt-Yosida decomposition theorem and the Alexandroff decomposition theorem are derived. Our main result—also based on the band decomposition theorem of Riesz—is the Hammer-Sobczyk decomposition for -group-valued...
